Hawaii Bound - Tuesday

May 20 2008

Off for another day at Honaunau. Still no sharks! Even so another excellent day of snorkeling. Matt really is much more comfortable in the water now. After snorkeling we made a quick stop at the condo to pick up the camera. We stopped at Snorkel Bob's to drop off the gear. We tried to find the mixed plate but had no luck. We then headed off to Anaehoomalu Beach (A-Bay) near Waiakoloa. Boy is it hot and windy there. It made me glad that I did not book us in the Outrigger there. The location is very pretty though. We took a bunch of pics then headed back toward home base. We finally found Kona Mixed Plate. It is in a strip mall behind Long's and across the street from Hilo Hattie. We got one Kalua Pork and one Teriyaki Chicken. For $18 we got enough food for lunch and dinner. Totally worth the time it took to find the place. We showered and walked up to the shopping center for newspapers and real estate brochures. When we got back we went to the open house upstairs to talk to Don the agent. He said the restaurant failed due to high prices and mediocre food as I suspected. We will have to investigate a little further. Still excited about the potential. Tamara reported back with her assignment. What an eventful day. We packed up our things for our flight over to Kauai and got ready for bed.
